Mark VII Completes Phase One of Factory UpgradeDecember
18, 2006 – Arvada, Colorado – Mark VII Equipment Inc., the US
subsidiary of WashTec AG of Germany, the leading supplier of
innovative solutions for the carwash business worldwide, has
completed the first phase of its factory renovation project.
“The Mark VII factory was built over two decades ago,” said
Murray Kennedy, President and CEO of Mark VII. “Manufacturing
technology has evolved over the years, and one of WashTec’s key
initiatives for Mark VII is to utilize state-of-the-art
manufacturing techniques to maximize efficiency and control costs.
This upgrade ensures that we continue to provide Mark VII customers
with the highest quality car wash equipment that is customized to
their specific needs, and that we will continue to do it at a
competitive price.”
“We’re applying best practices learned during our parent
company’s factory renovation in Germany to achieve similar
productivity improvements in the US,” added Christoph Kleu,
Executive Vice President of Mark VII. “For example, we installed a
rail system and a series of automated lifting devices to simplify
the assembly process, resulting in reduced production time and
enhanced quality control. But this isn’t a one-time project. As part
of our commitment to continuous improvement, we’re currently
finalizing plans for additional enhancements to be made in the
factory in 2007.”
